What's New?

The Continuing Saga . . .
This is a medical update on Bud’s leg injury. Having successfully undergone surgery at the end of November to repair his left quad tendon, followed by many weeks of physical therapy, Bud gradually began to resume his work in the shop. He was well enough to begin working on his back orders and to make a limited number of knives for the East Coast Custom Knife Show held on February 22-24 in New York City.

The ECCKS show ended at 3:00 on the 24th and a couple of hours later, when walking to the car in a restaurant parking lot which was in the act of being paved, Bud didn’t make the cut from the finished part of the parking lot to the unfinished. Result: his knee buckled under him, he fell, and, once again, tore the same tendon – in a different place. After a bunch of tests and doctors’ visits, the upshot is that he needs another surgery. This time, a cadaver tendon will be woven into his existing tendon; it’s a more complicated surgery and the recovery will be longer than after the first surgery.

So, once again, we ask your patience in waiting for your order to be filled. If you have any questions or concerns about your order, give us a call at 570-402-1018 or email us at budnealy@ptd.net

Knife Orders:

While walking our two English pointer dogs early on the morning of November 21, Bud slipped on a patch of snow and tore his quad tendon right off his knee cap.  He had to have knee surgery to repair the tear and is just beginning physical therapy this week.

As a result, we are somewhat behind in delivering orders.  If you have a pending order, please be advised that it may take one to two months longer to receive your order.

Shipping Costs

Unfortunately, we must pass along to our customers the increased costs of shipping.  We’ve been charging $12.75 which includes packaging, insurance, and the actual shipping costs.  Going forward, we will be charging $15.00.
